Christian Community Ministries is a registered charity which looks to serve the needy in a practical caring way. At the same time we try to show the Love of Jesus Christ and to share His gospel of Repentance, Forgiveness and Reconciliation to God the Father. From the Editor John the Baptist had many followers, men who thought he was the messiah, the answer to all their problems. But someone came along and spoilt everything for them, so they went to John and moaned “That man who was with you, the one you testified about, well, he is baptising, and everyone is going to him.” (John 3:26-36) It sounds a bit like little boys choosing football teams and complaining because all the best players are in the same team. John replied to them “You yourselves can testify that I said ‘I am not the Christ’ but am sent ahead of him. The bride belongs to the bridegroom. The friend who attends the bridegroom waits and listens for him, and is full of joy when he hears the bridegrooms’ voice…. The one who comes from above is above all; the one who is from the earth belongs to the earth, and speaks as one from the earth. The one who comes from heaven is above all. He testifies to what he has seen and heard, but no-one accepts his testimony. The man who has accepted it has certified that God is truthful. For the one whom God has sent speaks the words of God, for God gives the Spirit without limit. The Father loves the Son and has placed everything in his hands. Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on him.” (John 3:26-36)     What a wonderful reply! In essence he said Look I told you I was not the Saviour but you weren’t listening. Don’t come complaining because he is doing the same as me, He will take over the work and I will take a back seat. He is the one you should be following, I told you that all along! But more than that, within his reply are some of the most basic truths you could ever wish to read. “The Father loves the Son and has placed everything in his hands. Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on him.” Who ever rejects the Son will not see life. Before I became a Christian, I believed that there was something, God if you like. Even now, I know many people who believe something along those lines, “I believe in God” they say. They believe in God but have a problem with Jesus. God is OK but in this day and age, Jesus is not politically correct because He says Me and Me only, your truth is wrong, my truth is right. The Bible tells us that even demons believe in one God…. and shudder. (James 2:19). Now we know that the demons will not spend eternity in heaven so believing in God alone can not guarantee eternity with Him. “The Father loves the Son and has placed everything in His hands”. That includes YOU! “Whoever rejects the Son will not see life.” It is belief in Jesus alone that will guarantee you eternity in heaven. Him only. “Salvation is found in no-one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.” (Acts 4:12) In a world of personal choice, the choice is yours, God gives you freedom to choose, believe in His Son, and have eternal life, or reject His Son, and you won’t see life.
