| Thoughts on Christmas from the children of Emanuel |
 |
Christmas is a holiday when we remember, with joy, that our Saviour was born for each of us. Normally I thought that Christmas was for: receiving presents, to have lots of food on the table, to be “joyful” with music and everything else. But I’ve noticed that all these things are not happening in every house, that there might not be plenty of food on each table and not all the children receive gifts. I’ve realized this past Christmas that Jesus is born for me and that I have to be happy each day for that.
I went, before Christmas, to a children’s hospital to offer them some presents. When I saw them, and how they were looking at us and how happy they were for us being there with them, I’ve realized that those children are joyful even though they can’t walk, even though they have problems and are in the hospital. Me, who thank God can walk and I’m healthy, I forget many times to thank the Lord and I’m not that filled with joy like I should be.
I was impressed a lot by those children and I kept thinking on them afterwards about their way to be happy. Also before this holiday, we, the children from Emanuel, had a Christmas carol program. I was happy to see that the people, who came to sustain and listen to us, had a warm look on their face and I saw what a great thing it is when you do something for the Lord and when you are trusting into His arms.
I thank Him that until now I am here, at Emanuel, and I praise His name, He who protects and takes care of me. I thank you all who are helping us. May God bless you and strengthen you!

I went to visit children in a hospital, before leaving for holidays. I saw many ill children; we sang carols and gave them presents. I saw what a great gift from God it is to be healthy.
Another day we had a program at Emanuel and we had a great time together.

I thank the Lord that he was with us when we were at the hospital to sing carols and give presents to the children. I thank Him that He takes care of me and that I’m in good health condition. I had a great time at Emanuel singing carols and exchanging gifts. We invited our friends and relatives to come and see us on our special program. CALIN
What did Christmas mean for me? Christmas is an important holiday for me. Not because I receive many presents or eat many things, but because the Lord Jesus was born for me.Before these holidays I was at a children’s hospital. We wanted to give them a gift and to sing them some carols from our church. When I went inside and saw those children sad and aggrieved, I realized how much it means to be healthy and have a whole body.
After we sang the carols, a child came to tell me that he doesn’t deserve to receive a gift. I was amazed to hear that and I told him that each one of us might say the same, because it is not for our merit but what that God wants us to be there for His name. He gave me a puzzled look, took the gift and went back in the saloon. That night I thanked God for being healthy.
In other night we had a Christmas program at Emanuel and we invited our friends and relatives. At the end of the program we received each of us a gift. I was pleased and I got what I’ve wanted.
It is wonderful to receive a gift, but more lovely is to offer one. That’s why I’ve decided that some things I got I should give them forward as gifts. Thank you for everything! ELENA
I don’t know about you but reading their letters, I think their English is wonderful, it’s far better than our Romanian anyway.
Thank you to everyone who gave CCM gifts for the children and money so that the children could receive the gift of their choice. Believe me, they are very appreciative, thankful and understand the sacrifices many of you make to continue to help them. May the Lord Bless each and every one of you.
