Christian Community Ministries is a registered charity which looks to serve the needy in a practical caring way. At the same time we try to show the Love of Jesus Christ and to share His gospel of Repentance, Forgiveness and Reconciliation to God the Father. It is indeed, with deep regret that we have to announce the death of our old friend in Romania, Dr. Florin Margineanu on Friday 6th December. Because of his political beliefs, Florin had a very troubled life and managed to escape the terror of the communist regime and their greatly feared securitate (secret police), fleeing to France where he gained his first doctorate in Chemistry. Making the most of an opportunity he then went on to the USA where he gained his second doctorate in Chemistry. News got through to him that it was safe to return to Romania but when he arrived back in his home town he was immediately arrested and interrogated. The family home was taken from him and they were given a small apartment to live in. Neither of his doctorates was recognised by the authorities and they made him work as a janitor in a laboratory. Because of his troubled life it was necessary for Florin to take medication for his nerves and he often believed the securitate were still there watching him. He is now at peace in the arms of his Saviour. He always came to visit within minutes of our arrival at Cluj as his apartment overlooks Emanuel Children’s Home. He prayed daily for our Queen, our Prime Minister and gave thanks for all the people in England “who help Emanuel Home.” Florin leaves his wife Rodica and daughter Florina. He will be greatly missed.
