A Word from Rev. David Hill
I’ve been a Christian long enough now to know that whilst God sometimes takes you somewhere for a long time, on other occasions He simply moves you somewhere for a short period of time. There are experiences in life that turn out to be “stepping stones” from one place to the next, and that is how it seems to have worked out for my time at CCM, as I left working for the charity at the end of January.
We know that our lives and circumstances are in the hands of the Living God, and there is a Divine perspective in everything! In this case, whilst I am not exactly sure what that means for me and my family, I know that both the charity and my family will see that God was with us all along, using my time with CCM for good, and then opening up new avenues of service all round.
For instance, going into schools to take assembly and to meet head teachers has certainly not been time or effort wasted! This has been a tremendous blessing to me and I’ve been able to develop my ability to take assemblies and to introduce many children to the things of God as well as to the work of CCM. Simply put, the call of God on my life to evangelism and pastoral care has been renewed through my time at CCM – another way in which we can see God using all circumstances for His purposes. |
I do not know exactly what lies in store for me, but I am pursuing a couple of “leads” one of which came to me on the very day that I met with two of the trustees! (God’s perfect timing!). I expect to be serving the Lord in fulltime ministry for a good few years yet and would value your continued prayers. Please remember me and my family, and also Max and CCM. Thank you for your support so far… God bless you!
“I consider my life worth nothing to me, if only I may finish the race and complete the task the Lord has given me—the task of testifying to the gospel of God’s grace” Acts 20:24 NIV. David Hill |
Please continue to pray for David and his family. His time at CCM has not been easy for him as he has been asked to do many things outside of his gifting and that were unfamiliar to him. We tried a change of tack in his role at the CCM, but circumstances made even this almost impossible and you have read of the outcome.
Whilst he was at CCM and doing school assemblies, David was assessed under Ofsted and was given the category of ‘outstanding’ which is the highest accolade of the Ofsted system. This has lead to David taking up a position working within 6 local schools as a Learning Mentor helping children to cope and to make the change from primary school to high school.
