Christian Community Ministries is a registered charity which looks to serve the needy in a practical caring way. At the same time we try to show the Love of Jesus Christ and to share His gospel of Repentance, Forgiveness and Reconciliation to God the Father.
CCM in Romania

Christian Community Minstries was born out of a God-given vision to provide relief from poverty and sickness and to further the Christian faith. Moved by the images in Romania of terrible deprivation and squalor of so many Romanias, Max Keelty, founder of CCM, began delivering relief aid to Eastern Europe. Helped by people from the UK, relief aid was given out in hospitals, orphanages, children's homes, schools for handicapped children, churches and families in outlying, mountain villages.

Through further aid and mission trips to Romania, a strong network of Christian contacts was established and the charity Fundatia 'Christian Community Ministries' Cluj-Napoca was set up. Today this charity is managed by Gabi Covasa who, assisted by others, distributes the aid exactly where it is most needed.

Emanuel Children's Home
Even though conditions in many areas of Romania have greatly improved, there are still many thousands of children - orphaned and abandoned - living in appalling conditions. In 1994, the idea of building and running a children's home was discussed, and following lots of fundraising and help from people travelling to and fro from the UK to Romania, Emanuel Children's Home was opened in 1998.

The home can accommodate up to 12 orphaned and abandoned street-children, offering them a loving, caring family environment.  The home is staffed by fully qualified Romanians who are totally dedicated to the care and well-being of the children; children who come from different backgrounds but such similar circumstances. To meet some of the children cared for in Emanuel, click here.

In 2005 construction started on a new building which will cost in the area of £170,000 to complete. When finished the capacity will be much greater and so more people (children and adults) will receive help.  Compared with current costs we predict the budget for the new Emanuel Home to be £55,000 per year.  All our efforts are going into this project and please, if you could help us, we would very grateful.

Accomodation for the Elderly
Once the children have moved into the new home, final plans will be made for the conversion of the bungalow into accomodation for the elderly. From the one building we plan to create 7 self-contained apartments each with their own bathroom and basic kitchen facilities. There is quite a lot of work to do to be able to provide some people with their own front door key and each apartment will cost an estimated £10,000 to convert and furnish.

Helping Families
Through Gabi Covasa, CCM is able to help and support different families in need. Because of the troubled history of Romania, many families are very poor. Unemployment is high, wages are low and prices are very high. Many families do what they can to provide for themselves but when you earn around £100 a month and rent for a couple of rooms cost £60 a month life is extremely difficult!

Helping Churches
As a Christian charity we are delighted to be able to help the church in Romania fulfill its mission to reach those who have not heard the Gospel of Jesus Christ. There are many villages where people gathered together in borrowed rooms in order to fellowship together and gradually they are spreading the Word of God. We have donated Bibles in Romanian and help support a church in Bazna, through prayer and finances.
